Liliana Bartolotta performs with support from Karel Mark Chichon, conductor

I have to say that upon arriving at the festival, due to personal circumstances, I was tired physically and emotionally and not sure that I had the energy to give my best. The following morning we sang for each other and worked openly on our arias together. Carmela Altamura opened my heart that morning with her supportive teaching and knowledge and I began to sing with all of my being. I learned during that short period how to give my heart to the public through my voice and to not be afraid of judgement. This is what singing is truly all about. It's the reason that people idolize performers and continue to go to concerts. They want to be in touch with the divine, even if they don't know that they believe. Singing Violetta under her supervision and under the supervision of Maestro Anton Coppola gave me a tremendous gift. The gift of safety and support at a time when I needed it most. I will always be grateful.

My work at The Altamura Summer Institute opened up my voice and my eyes to new possibilities, new freedoms of expression, and more confidence than I have ever had! My sensitivity and awareness was heightened to a place where I can begin to explore the nuances I am capable of. I am now so much more aware of my impact and strengths as an artist. A heartfelt "thank you" to Mrs. Altamura & the Summer Institute.
ARLENE ALVARADO

I learned so much about the true traditions and interpretation of singing the role of Germont with Maestro Coppola and also met some wonderful colleagues who were so aptly selected by our producer Ms. Carmella Altamura. Can't wait to see what we'll do next year!

It was one of the most welcoming, supportive and professional experiences I have had. The combination of professional talented collegues and a warm family environment made it unique in comparison to any other program I have participated in. There was an overwhelming sense of love, respect and concern for all involved and I look forward to returning someday.
