Inter-Cities Performing Arts, Inc. announces that auditions for the 2008 Altamura/Caruso Study Grants will be held on March 6 and 7, 2008 at the Columbus Citizens Foundation, 8 East 69th Street in New York City.

Awards total $20,000. In addition, winners will perform in August 2008 at the Altamura Center for Arts and Cultures in Round Top, New York. Some will be selected to perform in Italy or with Tampa Opera in Florida. Anton Coppola, renowned opera conductor, will direct in New York and Florida. For those selected for final auditions, two sessions are scheduled as follows:

First Session - Saturday, August 23, 7:30 pm

Operatic scenes (arias, duets, trios, quartets, etc.), will be assigned to finalists.

Second Session - Sunday, August 24, 2 p.m.

Individual selections will be chosen by finalists themselves.

Finalists will be judged on vocal preparation as well as theatrical skills.
